With the tickets now on sale for the 2019 Blue Mountains Music Festival (BMMF), hype’s been a-buzzing over the second wave of artist announcements. Let's check-out the latest artists cherry-picked to perform next year.

Neko Case!

The rumours are true! Fresh from the release of her latest album Hell-On, The Haze is thrilled to hear that powerhouse singer-songwriter Neko Case will be performing at next year’s festival. If you haven’t had a chance to plug your ears into Case’s new album ‘Hell-On’, it’s best described as:

“A force of nature, an act of a mercurial, forgotten god, Hell-On is a record sealed by fire, filled with love and rage and dangers that might lay waste to everything at any moment.”(Andrea Pitzer).

... We can’t wait!

Mick Thomas & The Roving Commission

Also, gearing to make an appearance will be the raconteur, troubadour, balladeer and poet - Mick Thomas for his BMMF debut. Mick is best known as the maestro of pub-rock icons 'Weddings Parties Anything'. Mick will be joined onstage with his band The Roving Commission. Helping keep Mick's folk party alive will be Squeezebox Wally on the piano/accordion along with a rotating schedule of talented roots and country performers.

Crighton returns

We’re stoked to see the return of fan favourite William Crighton for 2019’s BMMF. William’s had a hectic year - hot off the heels from his ‘Trigger of Truth’ tour, performances at the Cambridge Folk Festival as well as the release of his highly acclaimed second album, 'Empire'. Crighton is a talented lyricist and storyteller with a unique and commanding performance style – a must see during the festival.

Nardi Simpson & Kaleena Briggs make Stiff Gins

Nardi Simpson and Kaleena Briggs from Stiff Gins are one of Australia’s best known and most loved Indigenous acts. On the day, don't miss simply stunning acoustic harmonies paired with the duo's wicked sense of humour that's guaranteed to transport listeners to a realm of joy, spirit and song. 2019 will mark the Stiff Gins' 20th anniversary and The Haze is delighted to be joining in on the celebration at the BMMF Festival.

Emerging artists all a'board

BMMF 2019 is set to be hosting several of the hottest emerging artists in the industry.

Joining the festival will be Zimbabwean born and Melbourne based singer-songwriter Thando, whose looking to solidify her status as Australia’s latest first-lady of R&B.

Industry up-and-comer STAV will also be in attendance. STAV's soulful and honest blends of English, French and Hebrew lyricism recently won her 2018 Folk Alliance (FAA) Young Artists of the Year, her music is equal parts mindful and uplifting!

'18 FAA Young Artist of the Year runner-up Jo Davie will also be gracing the crowds with her innate jazz sensibilities as well as her draw dropping four-octave vocal range!

BMMF's also welcoming back Melbourne duo (and 2016 FAA winners), The Maes - sisters Maggie (banjo, guitar and vocals) and Elsie Rigby (violin and vocals). With three years of international touring under their belts and the success of their sophomore album, 'Take Care Take Cover' , seeing The Maes is a festival must!

Last but not least

Rounding out BMMF's second artist announcements are folk legends Chloe & Jason Roweth, whose vibrant music shakes and stirs the arrangements of modern and classic Australian ballads ending in a sweet brew of bush music, poetry, yarns, and dance tunes.
