Faith I Branko’s Gypsy-Jazz lands @ Blue Mountains Theatre

Blue Mountains Theatre is delighted to present the leading Gypsy-Jazz ensemble Faith I Branko, whose high-energy live performances have received world-wide acclaim, live this Friday 23 Feb, 8pm.

Combining the accordion, violin, effects pedal and tabor pipe, Faith I Branko takes the audience on a journey from melancholy Roma violin laments to storming Serbian 'kolos' and explorations into jazz improv, swing, Gypsy Rumba and Turkish- and Indian-influenced violin solos.

Branko Ristic, a self-taught virtuosic Serbian Roma violinist joins with Faith Ristic, leading UK accordionist, to create a style that draws upon their musical heritages and expresses their unique personal connection. Faith and Branko met in Branko's Roma village in 2009, and with music as their only tool for communication, began a journey that would lead to the creation of their acclaimed debut album "Gypsy Lover" and their marriage!

Together, Faith I Branko create unique music that is passionate, joyous, fiery and spirited.

"Musically a delight...these virtuosic performers are a major discovery" – The Guardian, 2016.

Faith I Branko, Friday 23 February 8pm, 2018, @ Blue Mountains Theatre, 106 Macquarie Road Springwood. Tickets $35/$30. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Box Office, via phone 4723 5050 or online at www.bluemountainstheatre.com.
