Latest buzz on #Inland2017

The Inland Sea of Sound Festival 2017 is ready to bring an ocean of noise atop Bathurst’s Mount Panorama.

It’s announced! #Inland2017 has lined-up a killer set of heavyweight headliners, with favourites Bernard Fanning, Meg Mac, Dan Sultan, Megan Washington & Mia Dyson ready to take their music into the stratosphere.

Inland’s big bash also features an amazing line-up of accompanying musical talents, that include; Bonniedoon, William Crighton, Terra Lightfoot, The Gypsy Scholars, Smith & Jones, Sunny & the Dark Corners, The Orient Royal Mail Band, The Honey Drippin' Mudskippers, The Safety of Life at Sea, Idea of North and Luke Melton with more still to come. Head to the festival website for all the events details.

Local fan favourites Bonniedoon, The Safety of Life at Sea and Smith & Jones will represent our region’s vast local talents at this year’s Inland. Read below for more on the origins of these local music legends.

Formed in the Mountains back in 2011, Bonniedoon will be satisfying audience appetites with their infusion of Australian indie rockin’ soul and heavy blues influences. On the mountain, keep an ear out for Bonnie Coady’s powerhouse vocals accompanied by the soulfully solid rhythms of Sheridan Hurst on guitar and Hamish Rynehart’s electrifying lead guitar lines. With two successful EP’s, the band has been working hard to record their first studio album. Click here for Bonniedoon on Facebook.

The Safety of Life at Sea is a distinctly vintage four-piece band. The players take snippets of inspirations from blues, soul and funk as well as the classic songwriters of the 60's and 70's – with groove. Be sure to check out the group’s latest album ‘Foxy's Farm’ before heading to the festival. Released back in March 2017, the album features brilliant guest musicians from both sides of the Blue Mountains. Click here for The Safety of Life at Sea’s Facebook page.

The local Bathurst duo, Smith & Jones have fast become a force to be reckoned with, their debut album, 'Dark Gives Way' was recorded in 2016 with Michael Carpenter at Love Hz in Sydney. With the debut single, 'Baby Blue' and its accompanying film clip hit number one on the Australian Country Radio Charts. The duo’s roots will always be deeply founded in country music, but their originals are always heavily influenced by an indescribable flavour. Be ready to expect the unexpected at the festival when Smith & Jones hit the stage. Check out Smith & Jones on Facebook here.

Keep your eyes peeled for the December edition of the Haze Mag. The edition is set to feature an exclusive Central West spread, covering all latest happenings from The Safety of Life at Sea and Smith & Jones.

Inland Sea of Sound is also stoked that Western Australia's favourite beer, Betoota Bitter is heading south to become the official beer of the festival! Remember, the only thing better than watching Australia's own Bernard Fanning perform atop Mount Panorama, is watching Bernard Fanning perform almost 3,000 feet above sea level atop of Mount Panorama with a Betoota Bitter in hand! Be there to see all the glory first hand.

When in Bathurst for Inland, make time to enjoy some of the finest local brews, including; Two Heads Brewing, Stone Pine Distillery, Batlow Cider along with some delicious locally produced wines. The food menu will also have you salivating with a spread of delicacies to choose from; Wiradjuri inspired Bush Tucka, 14-hour slow cooked beef, flame-grilled chicken, craft cheeses, Vietnamese cuisines along with festival classics like the Twisted Chip are just a few of the mouth-watering options you will have the difficult task to choose from (or you can just try them all!).

Inland will have you chilling and camping atop one of Australia’s most loved mountain tops while enjoying each wave of music.
