The Hollands! are back with their newly released album The Last Dance. This all-family, all-folksy, all-time Americana band has successfully spun their signature spirited folk essence into this beautiful new 12-track album.
Known internationally for their wondering tours, The Hollands have got roots & musical ties everywhere including across the US and Australia (including the Blue Mountains). The Last Dance captures the family’s years of musical expertise and lived-in wandering experiences beautifully with core instrumentations on Guitar, Cajon, Mandolin, Banjo, Piano, and the Ukulele.
The Last Dance marks The Hollands 4th full-length studio album. As always listeners are treated to The Hollands’ timeless feel with abundant instrumentals and elegant vocal tales. Stand-out tracks include “The Blessing” a Celtic hit that The Hollands regularly grace listeners with at the end of their live performances and “Yours Forever” that tells a tale of love, life and safety with subtle melodic ease. This 12-track album is full of folk and heart and is guaranteed to ease any listener’s weary mind.
In true Holland fashion, a hand full of all-star players were invited to chime in on the album! Including, famed Aussie blues guitarist, Cameron Henderson (Middle Kids) who added a few licks on the Gretsch hollow body. Singer/Songwriter, Chris Gillespie laid down the Bass. Irish flautist, Colleen Davick showcased on the Penny Whistle. Accomplished violinist, Jeffrey Niemeier enhanced the album with his fireball fiddling. LA composer, Jeff Kurtenacker, offered undertones on the Hammond organ. And, Jason Torrens (Cisco Caesar) added his drumming magic.
Just like when hearing The Hollands live, by the end of The Last Dance, listeners will be swept away by the merrymaking, intimate, sing-a-long nature of this americana folk gem. Each song has beautifully woven harmonies with alluring acoustic tones thanks to the seasoned musical expertise from family members and contributors.
With the help of fans on Kickstarter, The Last Dance was recorded over 7 days in the Blue Mountains, with Blue Mountains recording engineer, Chris Gillespie in
his off-grid, solar powered, Blue Sky Recording Studios. The album is a delight with its gentle acoustic accompaniments and low-key
authentic acoustic-melodic tones that are guaranteed to suit any lazy Sunday up ahead.
With every track sharing a tale of true love, life and death, family, a sense of home or safety, and more love – you’d be hard pressed to find a better playlist/album this Christmas season! The Last Dance by The Hollands! is available to listen on Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play.
