Innamech - Bordertown
Sprawling over a vast area of musical and emotional terrain, often in the course of a single song, Innamech's Jimmi Carr and
Sammy Psyborg have delivered an intricate and memorable LP in 'Bordertown'. At times equally ethereal, psychedelic and unsetting,
Bordertown's eight tracks march, crawl, limp and sway woozily into form out of densely textured electronic, acoustic and natural samples.
A sense of unpredictability lingers over these songs, maintaining a nice element of surprise for listeners.
Though mainly an electronic album, Bordertown incorporates rich elements of psychedelia, EDM, glitch, ambience, and even
metal on the track 'Fool's Game'; with live drums provided by Lachlan McEwen. Above all, Innamech have displayed a unique balance between musical complexity and catchy, radio-ready hooks, as on the tracks 'Was Not Out' and
the title track. Impressive stuff.
