Tracey Yarad is the director of Blue Mountains Music Academy and is performing with her trio at the Avalon Jazz Corner during Winter Magic Festival 2017, June 24 in Katoomba.
“In this past 12 months I’ve had a really busy and excitingly creative time exploring New York City, the mecca of jazz,” she says.
Tracey is developing a new business to bring students interested in Jazz to NYC to experience the inspiring musical city, with access to the worlds leading jazz musicians for workshops and playing opportunities.
Along with running the Music Academy which hosts seasonal concerts, Tracey has written a conceptual stage show titled Beauty and the Bull… which she piloted at the Folk Festival this year. The show is a series of songs about life and its unpredictable journey, incorporating narrative, interpretive dance expression and elements of theatre.
If you enjoy her Jazz at Winter Magic, Tracey’s Trio has a residency at Katomba’s Old City Bank, showcasing her original material and mixing it up with the multitude of talented musicians residing locally.
