See Something Surreal with Ivy Jean’s Photography Display

A selection of works by photographer Ivy Jean will be displaying at the local mid-mountains Balanse Café this July. The exhibition will be hosted by Evelyn Ivy and officially opens on Monday 3rd July at 6.30pm, continuing through to 4pm Monday 31st July, ‘17.

Jean’s images seamlessly blend contemporary visual arts with more retro styles of photography. Her work has been commended for its use of Pinhole, Vintage, Digital and SLR film camera techniques. These techniques help Jean establish compelling moods, dimension, mystery and obscurity within her images.

“informed by her artistic sensitivity to composition, light, colour, atmosphere and emotion; while being steeped in a plethora of photographic styles and movements such as Modernism, Impressionism, Romanticism, Surrealism and Classical Realism” – John McBeatty’s review after viewing Jean’s artworks at the Tap Gallery in 2014.

Ivy Jean’s new exhibition promises not to disappoint any die-hard art aficionados out there.
