Fri 1st Sept 2017. Call Of The Wild Feat. Rufino And The Coconuts - A Tropical Jungle party, Plus DJ Stu Buchanan performing at Baroque Room, Katoomba.

Get ready to ‘sail away’ on a rythmic raft of 60s guitars, 80s synthesisers and souvenir-junk percussion with castaways Rufino and the Coconuts.

Led by Rufino the Catalan Casanova – a tropical misfit well-dressed in a strange land – Rufino and the Coconuts take you on a journey both dark and joyful. With flashes of Voodoo, rocksteady, 80s post-punk and smooth jungle disco, Rufino and the Coconuts are the band of your exotic island dreams and perhaps your most vivid jungle nightmare!

Rufino, crooner and violinist, known for his work with Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen, will bring his new sensational solo show of tropical-noir to The Baroque Room in Katoomba with a full 8-piece band guaranteed to stir your very bones.

The band and Catalan Casanova  will be wooing the audience with their vivid tell tales of Caribbean dentists, jungle misadventures, cray fishing and near-death love-affairs. All this and more will be delivered with their signature bone rattling backbeat! They groove, they rock-steady and they spread good time tropical pop and then they yell and run from the evil spirit Baron Samedi.

Jump aboard and join the expedition. With Rufino and the Coconuts at the lead, it's a tropical adventure we know you'll just love!

Catch the band live at the Baroque Lounge Sept 1st 2017, doors open 8pm with DJ Stuart Buchanan.
